The Trieste Branch in Italy was founded in 2007, with the aim of promoting Greek culture, disseminating the Greek language, strengthening intercultural dialogue and exercising cultural diplomacy in Italy and Slovenia. It organizes several cultural events, covering the full spectrum of Greek culture. At the same time, Greek courses are held for adults at all levels, while a pilot programme of free teaching of the Greek language is being implemented for high school students and teachers in Trieste.
