An anonymous man, just released from prison, tries to get back on his feet and survive, wandering across the dangerous and dark passages of an “empty place”, a land with hostile, apathetic people. Empty Place is a novel full of striking human voices and chthonic whispers, a mosaic-like story that portrays the geographical and psychic landscape of indigeneity, the power of “roots”, the violence of desolation.

Yannis Nikoloudis was born in 1987 in Heraklion, Crete. He studied Economics. He has written the novels  Poor Child (2016), From Soil and Bones (2021), which was shortlisted for the Best Novella Award of the literature magazine “o anagnostis”. His third book, Empty Place, has won many awards.
