Nikolaos Em. Karapidakis (Heraklion, Crete 1955) is Professor Emeritus of the Ionian University.Nikolaos Em. Archivist and palaeographer (graduate of the Ecole nationale des chartes 1982) and a Doctor of History (University of Sorbonne, 1988).. He was an archivist at the Commission of the European Union (1984-1989), Director of the General State Archives (1989-1993) and President of the Ephorate of the General State Archives (2009-2020). He is the director of the Estia journal (2012-present) and the History and Politics series of the Estia Bookshop publications.
