HFBC at the Frankfurt International Book Fair

HFBC President Nikos Bakounakis and Vice President Panagiotis Kapos attended the 2025 Frankfurt International Book Fair Frankfurter Buchmesse, which took place from October 15 to 19, 2025, participating in meetings and presentations for the promotion of Greek books abroad.

Nikos Bakounakis took part in the meeting of the European Network for Literary Translation (ENLit), of which HFBC is a member, where, among other things, the ENLit 3+ Grant professional program was presented, aimed at supporting translators and strengthening cooperation between ENLit members.

Panagiotis Kapos presented at the Greek pavilion an overview of Greek book production, the characteristics of the Greek publishing industry, and the new book policies developed by HFBC .

At the same time, the GreekLit translation program and the new GreekLit Hospitality Program in Vitsa (GRPV) were presented.

The President and Vice-President of HFBC met at the Greek pavilion with the executives of the Frankfurt International Book Fair, Marifé Boix García, Vice President for Southern Europe and Latin America of Frankfurter Buchmesse, and Hanife Içten, Key Account Management and Sales at Frankfurter Buchmesse (photo). Meetings were also held with the management of the literary network traduki, as well as with the executives of the Leipzig Book Fair, Astrid Bohmisch, Director of the Leipzig Book Fair, Theresa Wiedemann, Project Manager of the Leipzig Book Fair, and Dr. Heather Metje, Head of Department of the Leipzig Book Fair.
