HFBC is the national hub of the program in Greece<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

#ReadForReal<\/strong> is an international project carried out by a consortium of 7 organizations from 5 countries. The great European celebration of literature and creativity will take place every year from November 11 to December 12. Author cross-borders tours will connect writers with readers in 43 Creative Europe countries.

So far, 27 countries have joined the preparations for the pan-European celebration. HFBC is the national hub of the program in Greece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 2025, HFBC is participating in one of the program’s projects, European Author’s Day<\/strong>, on December 8 and 9<\/strong>. This event has already been finalized and will be announced shortly.

In the future, in collaboration with Read For Real<\/strong>, which coordinates the whole program, other reading events that could be implemented by HFBC, the national platform of the program in Greece, will be discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#ReadForReal: Stay connected!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The program highlights direct engagement with literature \u2013 experiencing it live, and authentically \u2013 through meeting with authors. Reading aloud is proven to be largely influential on children\u2019s brain development, their concentration span and level of thinking. This is especially vital in today\u2019s world, overwhelmed by the addictive power of apps yet craving genuine human connection, as well as in the face of troubling declines in critical thinking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#ReadForReal: Invest in the future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

75 million adults in Europe lack sufficient reading comprehension skills. Many are excluded from economic and social life \u2013 a tremendous loss for individuals, communities, and democracies as a whole. On the other hand, research proves that reading really is miraculous – it has the power to change lives by stimulating the development of our brains. Each of us can use reading in order to generate a positive change within our own communities.

The European Authors Day celebrations under the banner #ReadForReal <\/strong>are organized by a consortium led by the Universal Reading Foundation (Poland)<\/strong>, in partnership with the National Library of Poland<\/strong>, Stiftung Lesen<\/strong> (Germany), Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire<\/strong> (France), Chetene<\/strong> (Bulgaria), and two international organizations: the Federation of European Publishers<\/strong> and EURead<\/strong>. The project is co-founded by Creative Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
